The Grand Wagoneer L’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The Navigator L doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

The Jeep Grand Wagoneer L has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags help prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Navigator L doesn’t offer knee airbags.

In a Vehicle-to-Vehicle Frontal Crash Prevention 2.0 test conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the Jeep Grand Wagoneer L achieved a “Acceptable” rating - the second highest possible - for its performance in forward collision warning and automatic braking systems, demonstrating its excellent capabilities in preventing collisions. The Lincoln Navigator L has not been tested.

The Jeep Grand Wagoneer L’s rear backup camera has a standard washer for maintaining a clear view under various conditions. In contrast, the Lincoln Navigator L does not offer a rear camera washer, meaning its effectiveness relies on manual cleaning by the user when necessary.

Both the Grand Wagoneer L and the Navigator L have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors, available all-wheel drive and around view monitors.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration does 35 MPH front crash tests on new vehicles. In this test, results indicate that the Jeep Grand Wagoneer L is safer than the Lincoln Navigator L:

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2025 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Jeep vehicles are better in initial quality than Lincoln vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Jeep above average in initial quality. With 20 more problems per 100 vehicles, Lincoln is rated below average.

Regenerative brakes improve the Grand Wagoneer L REEV’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The Navigator L doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer L uses regular unleaded gasoline (mid-grade octane recommended for maximum performance). The Navigator L requires premium for maximum efficiency, which can cost on average about 35.1 cents more per gallon.

The Grand Wagoneer L has 2.7 gallons more fuel capacity than the Navigator L (30.5 vs. 27.8 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

The Grand Wagoneer L has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Grand Wagoneer L’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. For better maneuverability, the Grand Wagoneer L’s turning circle is 1.7 feet tighter than the Navigator L’s (42.2 feet vs. 43.9 feet).

For greater off-road capability the Grand Wagoneer L Air Suspension has a 1.1 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Navigator L (10 vs. 8.9 inches), allowing the Grand Wagoneer L to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The front grille of the Grand Wagoneer L uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Navigator L doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

The Grand Wagoneer L’s liftgate lifts up in one piece, completely out of the way of loading and unloading, while sheltering the cargo loading area. The Navigator L’s tailgate’s top part raises up, but the bottom part lowers, getting in the way of loading and making an uneven surface for sliding cargo.

Maximum trailer towing in the Lincoln Navigator L is limited to 8700 pounds. The Grand Wagoneer L 4x4 offers up to a 9860 lbs. towing capacity.

Unlike the driver-only memory system in the Navigator L, the Grand Wagoneer L Summit has a passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position, foot pedal distance, outside mirror angle and radio stations and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Grand Wagoneer L’s instruments include an oil pressure gauge and a temperature gauge - which could save your engine! Often ‘idiot lights’ don’t warn you until damage has been done. The Navigator L does not have an oil pressure gauge.

The Grand Wagoneer L offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed, tachometer and navigation instruction readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Navigator L doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

When the Grand Wagoneer L is put in reverse, both rearview mirrors tilt from their original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirrors into their original positions. The Navigator L’s mirrors don’t automatically adjust for backing.

The Grand Wagoneer L’s optional ParkSense Automated Parking can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling the transmission and speed with the brake pedal. With its available fully controlled system, the driver just activates it and it parks autonomously, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. The Navigator L doesn’t offer an automated parking system.

The Grand Wagoneer L is available in both rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The Navigator L doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
